NPI Mark is a searchable database of US healthcare providers and the organisations they work for, assembled from the public record - what providers and their employers file about themselves, and the published certification and quality records for certified facilities. It is for people whose work means reaching those providers and the organisations behind them for a legitimate business reason - selling to a practice or a hospital, recruiting clinicians, checking who can be billed for, researching a market - and who will have to show, afterwards, where each field came from and when it was confirmed.
There are 9,469,440 provider records in the platform today, individuals and organisations, and search is open without an account - so the fastest way to judge any of this is to look up somebody you already know.
Three rules, and the product is what is left when you keep them.
Provider data is easy to sell badly. A file with no dates on it looks identical to a file with dates on it until somebody calls a number that has been dead for two years. These are the three decisions that make the rest of the platform behave the way it does, and each of them costs us something.
Every field carries the date it was confirmed
A record is never uniformly current. Identity and specialty are refreshed on one schedule, affiliations and licences on another, and a work email is confirmed continuously - so each field says when it was last confirmed instead of the whole database standing behind one date. You can decide what is fresh enough for what you are doing, and quote that date rather than ours.
Suppression is honoured everywhere, and never by deleting
When somebody asks to be left alone, the request reaches public pages, signed-in search, the counts the directory publishes, every export and every appended file. A withheld value says it was withheld rather than reading as blank. The record is not deleted, because a deleted record is one the next refresh recreates - the mark is what makes the removal keep working.
Contact details are metered and audited, not dumped
A work email is revealed one record at a time, against an allowance, and written to an audit log. Home address and cell phone exist only under a signed contract, are revealed the same way, and are never in an export or a list. Nobody buys a file of contact details here, which is the point: a database that can be emptied in an afternoon cannot be kept honest.
How each of these is enforced, and what a buyer's security review asks about, is on security and trust.
The part of a company page nobody else writes down.
What we hold can be checked by searching. What we do not hold has to be said out loud, because absence is the one thing a search cannot demonstrate.
No patient data, in any form
Not identified, not de-identified, not aggregated. The platform holds who a provider is, what they practise, where they practise and who they work for. It holds nothing about anybody they have treated, and it never will.
No consumer marketing file mixed in
A provider record is a provider record. Nothing from a consumer audience is folded into it, blended into a count, or shipped inside a provider export. The licensed home address and cell phone are a contract of their own, revealed per provider and never listed.
No resale rights, on any plan
You licence access for your own organisation to use. Redistribution, resale and scraping are outside every plan, files are traceable to the export that produced them, and the limit is in the terms rather than in a sales conversation.
No scores we cannot show the working for
No propensity number, no likelihood-to-buy, no invented completeness grade. Where something is scored - a work email - the arithmetic travels with the score. What we report as a change is a dated, checkable fact.
Operated by Lorann LLC, in the United States.
NPI Mark is operated by Lorann LLC, a New York limited liability company, trading as NPI Mark, a United States company. Where we are registered as a data broker, a person can find us on the state’s registry and ask us to stop, whether or not they are a customer: [OWNER: which states Lorann LLC is registered as a data broker in - applications for California, Texas, Oregon and Vermont were filed by 2026-10-02 and are awaiting approval, so until each is granted this page must not say we are registered].
[OWNER: when the company was founded, or say to drop the sentence - we publish no date rather than an approximate one]
[OWNER: how to describe the size of the team, or say to drop the sentence - a made-up headcount is worse than none]
[OWNER: the postal address to publish, or confirm that we publish none and say so here instead]
There are no stock photographs, no team gallery and no customer quotations on this site. The claims worth making about a provider database are the ones a buyer can check against a provider they already know, and everything on this page that cannot be checked that way is a fact the owner has confirmed.
[OWNER: whether any customer may be named on a public page, and in whose words - no name goes on this site without their written agreement]
Getting in touch.
Four routes, each for one thing: plans and contracts, support for customers, privacy and removal requests, and security reports. The contact page lists them with what each is for.
- Sales and plans - Prices, what a plan includes, contract terms, and access to provider-matched home address and cell phone, which is contract-only.
- Support for customers - Your account, seats, billing, a search that is not returning what you expect, an export or append job that failed, and API keys.
- Privacy and removal - Opt out of the sale and sharing of your information, ask for it to be deleted, or have particular fields removed. You do not need an account, and we never charge for it.
- Security reports - A vulnerability in the site, the API or the application. Tell us what you found and how to reproduce it, and we will confirm we have it.
